Despiteshowingit'sagealittlebit,thisisanenjoyableshortthatmixesafuncomictonewithaseriouspointaboutthelivesofoldagecitizens.Thepointisratherheavilydeliveredbutitisgoodnonetheless,butitisthecomicboxingtrainingthatmakestheshortenjoyable.Theplotfocusesonthethreatfromtheauthoritiesandthetitlefightanditiswelldeliveredwithagoodmixthathelpsusgetintothecharactersandtheirsituations.ThefightscenesarehardlyRagingBullqualitybuttheyareengagingenough-theirweaknessismoreduetothedirectionthananythingelse.Kesslerdoesn'tstandoutfromanyoneelsewhodirectedtheshortfilmsintheShortFilmCinemaseries-hisdirectionisquiteflatanduninspired,partlyduetobudgetI'msure,plusthefilmstocklookswashedoutandpale,althoughthatmaybetheageofthefilm,Idon'tknow. ThecastareallprettygoodwithGouldbeinganengagingleadcharacterinparticular.Thescripthelpsanditgivesplentyofwittylinestothecast.Attwentyminuteslong,itisalongerfilmthanmanyshortsIhavewatched(mostaretenminutesorthereabouts)butitstillflowedbyquitequickly.Overallthisisanenjoyableshortdespiteratherlistlessdirection. 详情
