Aswithallofhisfilms,themainstandoutinthisoneisdefinitelyTomasMilian.Thegreatactorcutsamemorablefigureintheantagonistrole,andmostofthereasonforthatisdowntothefactthathe'samillionmilesawayfromthecommonPolizibadguy.Heactuallyseemslikequiteadecentpersoninspiteofbeingacriminalanditworkswell;althoughthedirectorobviouslyfelttherewasn'tenoughantagonisminthecharacteraswealsogetamuchnastiervillainforourherodetectivetotrackdown.LucMerendaonceagainputsinafittingperformanceintheleadroleandheisbothgoodtowatchandbelievableintheactionsequences.Thereisplentyofactiontoo,andit'sclearthatthedirector'sonlyintentionwiththisfilmwastoentertaintheaudience,andthefilmcertainlydoesdothat.There'salsoagooddoseofhumourwhichworksverywellanddoesn'tfeeloutplaceeither.Thefilmonthewholeisnotbrilliantorparticularlyintelligent,butthisgenreisneverreallymeanttobe;andDestructionForcemorethanmakesupforitslackofsubstanceinentertainmentvalueanyway,andI'mconfidentthatanyonewhobotherstotrackthisflickdownwillenjoyit.…
