Thefilmisnotasactionpackedassomeothergenreentries,butthere'scertainlyenoughtoentertaintheaudience.Theleadingcharactersareallfleshedoutnicelyandprovideoneofthemostinterestingthingsaboutthefilm.TheleadingstandoutisundoubtedlyClaudioCassinelliwhoimpressesastheamoralandverynastycriminalatthecentreofthefilm.Hegetsgoodsupportfromaverycapablesupportingcast.By1976,theGiallogenrehadalmostcompletelydiedout;butMarioCaiano,ashedidwithCallingAllPoliceCarsayearearlier,hasstillseenfittoimplementsomeGiallostylesceneswhichcertainlyhelpthefilm.Thereareahandfulofmurders,whichincludestabbing,shootingandburning,andithelpstogivethefilmitsnastyedge.Itsoonbecomesclearthatthefilmisnotgoingtoendonahappynote,andCaianodeliversjustthesortofdepressingendingthatyouwouldexpectfromthefilm.Overall,BloodyPayrollmaynotbeoneofthebestPolizifilmstocomeoutof1970'sItaly,butit'scertainlyaverygoodoneandiswellworththetroubleoftrackingdown!…
