简介：StanislavBarabasisaSlovakiandirector,oneofthefirststudentsofthePragueFilmAcademy(FAMU).Hemademanydocumentariesbeforehestarteddirectingfeaturefilms.HisfeaturefilmdebutwasASongabouttheGreyPigeon(Piesenosivomholubovi,1961),followedbyTheAngelosTrio(TrioAngelos,1963),TheBellsTollfortheBarefooted(Zvonyprebosych,1965)andTangoforaBear(Tangopremedveda,1966).In1968,heachievedinternationalsuccesswithhisfilmKrotka(1968)basedonF.M.Dostoievski’snovel.Inthatsameyear,heimmigratedtoCanada.Afteronlyoneyear,hemovedontoGermany.TherehelivedandmadefilmsandTVseriesuntiltheendofhislife.
