Onceinflight,theshipisinterceptedbytheDraconians.TakentoDraconia,theDoctorisabletoconvincetheEmperoroftheMaster'sschemetoprovokeawarusingtheOgronsandahypnoticdevicethatmakesthoseaffectedseewhatevertheymostfear. JoisrecapturedbytheMasterandtakentotheOgrons'homeplanet,wherehealsohastheDoctor'sTARDIS.TheDoctorfollowswithGeneralWilliams-anemissaryfromthePresidentofEarth-andaDraconianPrince.BehindtheMaster'splotaretheDaleks,whowantawartobreakoutsothattheycaninvadeintheaftermath.TheDoctorandhispartyareplacedintheMaster'scustodyastheDaleksleavetopreparetheirforces,buttheymanagetoescape.
