InthecourseofemptyingouttheatticsoastorecreatethesmallstudiowhichJacqueshadsetupatthattime,MireilleHenrio,thearchivist,andAgnesfoundscrapsof9.5mmfilmstock,dry,creasedandalmostruined,andtwosmallcutoutcardboardfigures.Itturnedouttobeimpossibletoprojecttheoriginalfilms,soanattemptwasmadetoremakethem. LABALLERINE(THEBALLERINA) WhenthefilmfragmentswereshowntoJacquesheimmediatelyidentifieditasLaBallerine.AstudentfromtheFineArtscollegeatNantesthenresignedeachscene,imagebyimage,onnew16mmfilmstock.Themovementscouldthusbevisualised.ThenthecharacterswererecreatedbasedontheAttaqueNocturnedesigns,andthedecorwassimilarlyrecreated.Thecameraoperatorthenphotographedeachimagesoastoremakethefilm.Wewereabletoshowthesethreefilmsin"JacquotdeNantes",andnowpreservedonthisDVD,keepingtotheoriginalstylewhichJacquesdesigned,thenproducedandfilmed.Thismiraculousrestorationallowsustoseehow Jacques,rightfromthebeginning,maintainedhisextraordinarypassionforthecinema.…
