简介：ShortlyaftertheWorldWarIandcreationofthenewCzechoslovakRepublic,twowarveteransareconfrontedinasmallvillageinthenorthofSlovakiaattheborderwithPoland.Foroneoftheprotagonists-MarekOrban(MichalDocolomansky),thisvillageishishome.Asitisisolatedandlacksjobopportunities,hepersuadestheinhabitantstoemigratetoAmerica.Thevillagershavetosellallthecattletobeabletobuytheboattickets,butitstillisnotenough.MarekOrbanhastosmugglehorsestoPoland. Thesecondprotagonist-customsofficerHalva(RadoslavBrzobohaty)arrivesfromPraguetoprotectthebordersandthelawofthenewrepublic.Bothmenofhonorandprinciple,theyareledtoconflictwhichresultsinadeathofvillagersandcustomsofficers.Theabsurdityofthistragedyisunderlinedattheendofthefilmwhentheborderismoved,thevillagebecomesapartofPolandandinthebackgroundwecanseeMarekOrbansmugglinghorsesfromPolandtoPoland.…
