In2003,hereceivesagrantfromtheFundaciónAndestomakethedocumentaryNingúnLugarenNingunaParte.Then,hedirectsObrerassaliendodelafabrica,ashortshotin35mmwiththesupportoftheFondodeFomentoAudiovisualNacional(FONDART),selectedbymanyfestivals(Toulouse,Huesca,SaoPaulo...). ThedocumentaryNingúnLugarenNingunaParteisequallyinvitedtonumerousfestivals:Rotterdam,ToulouseEncounters...In2004,JoséLuisTorresLeivareceivestheprizeforBestDirectorattheSantiagodocumentaryfestival,FIDOCS.TheSky,theEarthandtheRainishisfirstfictionalfeaturefilm.
