简介：Ididn'tmuchlikethisfilmwhenIfirstsawittenortwelveyearsago,butIwasprobablyexpectingaserious,fast-paced,violentItaliancrimefilmasmanyofTomasMilian'smid-70sfilmswere.Howeverthisoneemphasizesthecomedyatleastasmuchastheaction,althoughitisstillasuccessfulpackageandthecomedy/crimemixtureworkswell.Ihaven'tseeallthelaterfilms(whichranwellintothe1980's)withMilianasunconventionalpoliceinspectorNicoGiraldi,buttheoneafterthisTHEGANGTHATSOLDAmerica,whichalsofeaturesalotofUSlocationshooting,doesnotworkthatwellinmyopinionandisfullofdatedpopculturereferencesandunfunnyhumor.ThefirstsceneofLITTLEITALY--asadirtyoldmanislookingthroughbinocularsataladyundressing...whilehisapartmentiscompletelystrippedcleanbyrobbersonlyafewfeetawayfromhim!--setsthetoneforthefilm.Theplot,suchasitis,takesMiliantoNewYorkandeventuallytoLasVegas(andeventuallytothegaschamberinNevadainanoutrageousclimax!),andthere'slotsofgreatlocationfootageofhimwalkingalongtheoldVegasstripcirca1978.EliWallachappears(thoughhisvoicedoesn't!)asamafiadon,inarolethatdidn'trequiremuchofthisfineactor,butheplayscomedywellandisgoodinthescenesinvolvinghisunderlings,hisred-hairedwallfloweroversexeddaughter,andMilian(thesceneintheItalianrestaurantwhereMilianthrowsapizzainthefaceofoneofWallach'sunderlingsisclassic!).Bombolo,whoappearsinanumberoftheselaterNicoGiraldifilms,isafinecomicfoilforMilian,andtheyhaveagoodchemistry.I'veyettoseethe1980'sentriesinthisseries(anykindsoulouttherewithextracopies?),butinLITTLEITALYtheseriesstillhassomelifeinit,andBrunoCorbuccimakesthemixoflowbrowItaliancomedyandItalianpoliceactionworkwell.Notaclassic,andaction-orientedfanswillbeletdown,butMilianfanswillenjoyit.…
