Thetwobrotherssparovercontrolofthecastleandland,withthelocalsurfsonHinrich'ssideandthelawonDetlev's.Theconflictswirlsoutofcontrol,andafterthedeathofHinrich'syoungwife,the“good”sonHinrichfinallylosesanysemblanceofsanityandbrutallykillsDetlevonawindyhill.Hinrich,nowafugitive,disappears.Thesecondarcbeginsadecadeorsolater,whereHinrich'ssonhasbeenraisedandgroomedbythesurfstoeventuallytakeoverthenowshutteredGreyHouse.Detlev'swidowhasreturnedandplanstokidnapthechildandtakeoverthelandherself,butHinrichhasalsowanderedbacktohisoldhometown,nowwornandaged.TheGhostofHinrich'swifeappearsandallowsforamiraculousrescuebybothfrighteningDetlev'swidowandalertingHinrichtothedangertheirsonisin.Hinrichdiessavinghissonslife,andweassumeasthefilmfadestoblackthatthechildwillbecomeabenevolentrulerofGreyHouse.…
