Martinu,playedbyPatrickRyecart(alsoinPrisonersofHonor),wakesandhishandiscoveredwithants.Hebrushesthemoffandheadstowardsa(phallic)lighthouse.Anudegirlisalwaysbeforehimasheclimbsthesteps.Thisimagerepeatsitselfinvariousforms.OtherimageryincludesPicassoimagesofdancingcircusplayersandthemenacingminotaur.WhenMartinuandwifeexchangegiftsheisgivenatinypiano,andsheisgivenasewingmachinewhichisofcourseaSingermake.Laterhesitslegsastridethetinypianocomposing.Andtheactorsfilmedthroughthelighthouselens.
