Itshouldbementionedthatthecomposerputmoreemphasisonthecomicalmomentsascomparedtotheoriginalplay;insteadofonekintoheintroducedtwoandintensifiedtherivalbetweentwomatchmakers.Inordertoachievestrongercomicaleffect,eachcharacterhasacounterpersonage:abankruptnoblemanandarichmerchant,matchmakersandkintosandyoungeducatedKetoandKote.Thusthelibrettoisrichindiversityofsocialportraits.
