WhilethehappinessIsidroachievesisquitemoving,the"warofthepigs"itselfisresolvedabitunsatisfactorily.Afteraterroriststrikeontheretirementhome,therevolutionlosesmomentumpresumablybecausetheextremityoftheactmadeeveryoneinvolvedrealizethewar'sabsurdity.Butjustbeforetheterrorhascompletelydied,therevolutionperceivesIsidoritoasatraitorfornotturningagainsthisfatherandkillshim.Isidro'ssufferingisaverysoberingwaytoendthemovie,particularlyconsideringthecallousnesswithwhichhisoldfriendsbehavenowthattheyaresafe.ButIcan'thelpfeelingthatthisfilmcouldhavebeenquiteabitmorepowerfulhadthecharacterizationofIsidroandhissonbeenreconsidered.
