In2002,hemovedtoMelbourne,wherehebegantodevelopthesolocomedyshowswhichhavegainedhimpublicandcriticalacclaiminthelastthreeyears.Hedevelopedhisuniquestyleduringan18-monthperiodwhenheplayedregularlyinthefamous40-seatcabaretroomofTheButterflyClubinSouthMelbourne,beforeproducinghisbreakoutshow,DarkSide,attheMelbourneInternationalComedyFestivalin2005.ThisshowwontheinauguralFestivalDirectors’AwardandwaspickedupbylegendaryEdinburghproducer,KarenKoren,matriarchoftheGildedBalloon. AttheEdinburghFringe,Timbecameoneofthemostsuccessfuleverdebutacts,sellingoutthe300-seatDebatingHallandwinningthePerrierAwardforBestNewcomer.HesubsequentlywentontoperformDarkSideattheSohoTheareandtheLyricTheatreinLondon’sWestEnd,andalsoappearedonabillwithMariahCareyandWestlifeattheRoyalAlbertHall. HeappearedattheMontrealJustForLaughsFestivalin2006andtheHBOUSComedyArtsFestivalinAspen,ColoradoinJanuary2007,wherehewontheawardforBestAlternativeComedian.InNovemberthatyear,heperformedattheHBOComedyFestivalinLasVegasandsoldoutshortseasonsatArsNovainNewYorkandtheACMEComedyTheatreinLA.Heisbookedforasix-weekrunattheNewWorldStagesinNewYorkinMarch2008.
