StartingwiththesametinklingscorethatalltheshortfilmsIhaveseenfromChanticleerFilms(intermsofshortfilmsanyway)and,asalways,IsankalittlebitasIrealizedthatthiswouldprobablynotreallybeanythingspecialandwasalreadyfailingtodifferfromtheirusualstyle.IwasrightinthatregardbutIstillenjoyeditand,infairness,itisnotunreasonabletoacceptthataproductioncompanywillproducesimilarstylesandfeelsacrossitswork.ThefilmisaboutrelationshipsandtakesaverylightlittlelookatthembyusingAllyMcBealstyle(albeityearsbeforethatseriesstarted)fantasysequencestodothejob.Assuchitisratherlightonplot(asshortsoftenhavetobe)butdoesamuse.ThefantasysequencesarehardlyhilariousbuttheycleverlyextendthecharacteristicsoftherelationshipsthatJessicaseestothenextleveltoreasonableeffect.ThisisenoughtomakeitworthwatchinganditisjustashamethatthemainthreadofJessica'slovelifetendstobecomesecondarytothesemoments. Thecastaregoodandfeatureafewwellknownfacesinthere.AlisonElliottleadsthefilmwellwitharathernicecharacterandaperformancetomatch,sheeasilywinsovertheaudienceandmakesherjudgementalattitudetowardsotherseasiertoaccept.TherestofthecasthavealmostnocharacterstoreallyspeakofandjustprovidesupportbutitwasgoodtoseeMichaelBeachdoinghisusualcool,suavestuffinthisshort–he'sagoodlookingandslickguynomatterwhatyourorientationis!Thecastseemtolikethematerialtoo,astheyhavenotcomeforthemoneyasthereappearstobeverylittleofthatkickingaround.Thebarissimplyablacksoundstagewithsomefurnitureinitanditdoesn'tlooklikeanyrealmoneywasspentonit–butthisisashortandIhavenoproblemwithlowbudgetstuffaslongasitdoesn'tletitconstrainitintermsofsubstance. Overallthisishardlyearthshatteringstuffanditisnotreallythesortofthingthatwillstickinyourmindbutitisenjoyablenonetheless.TheplotisbasicandreallymoreaboutrelationshipsgenerallythanJessica'sinparticularbutinthatregarditworksbecauseitisquitewellobservedandhasquiteafewamusingmoments.AsIsaid,hardlythebestthingyou'lleverseebutitispleasantandquiteamusingtowatch. 详情
