MesghaliwasborninIsfahan,Iranin1943.StudyingpaintingatTehranUniversity,hebeganhisprofessionalcareerasagraphicdesignerandillustratorin1964.Aftergraduationin1968,hewassupportedbytheCenterfortheIntellectualDevelopmentofChildrenandYoungAdults(CIDCYA)inTehran.From1970to1978hemademanyofhisaward-winninganimatedfilms,postersforfilmsandillustrationsforchildrenbooksunderitsauspices.In1979hemovedtoParis.Inthenextfouryearsheworkedasanartistproducinganumberofpaintingsaswellassculptures,whichwerepresentedatSammyKingGalleryinPairs.
