简介：BorninSalamancain1961,RicardoIscargotadegreeinLawandthendecidedtogotoMadridtostartImagestudiesattheComplutense.ButhewentevenfurtherwhenhefinallyendupbybeingaBerlinbasedDFFB(DeutscheFilm-undFernsehakademieBerlin'sdiplomateashefinishedBADU.StoriesfromtheNegevdesert(1994),adocumentaryabouttheBedouinsthatwascoproducedbytheWDRandtheSFB,bothGermanTVchannels,andthatwonthejuryawardattheInternationalEthnographicCinemaFestivalinParnu(Estonia),JeanRouchalsoselecteditfortheBilanduFilmEthnographiqueattheMuséedeL'HommedeParisandithasbeenaparticipantattheinternationalFilmFestivalsofTelAvivandHaifa,inIsrael,andtheGermanonesofLeipzigandGottingentoo. RicardoIscarwasalsothedirectorofsomeshortfictionfilmsanddocumentarieslikeElDiariodeManuelAngel(1991,partofMannheim,MunichandCiudaddeMexicoFilmFestivalsandprizedattheSanRoqueFilmFestivalinCádiz)andDieTaubenessenWassermelone(PigeonseatWatermelon,1987),thislastprogrammedattheKarloVivaryFilmFestival.DieReisederIda-IrmanachLünow(Ida-Irma'striptoLünow,1990)andAlaOrilladelRIo(AttheRiverside,1991)anexplorationofthelifesofthesalmantiniangypsiesthat,onceagain,wasawardedindifferentdocumentaryfestivals,gavehishomeland'sculturalauthoritiesenoughreasonsfordevotinghimaretrospectiveattheFilmotecadeCastillayLeón,introducedbytheprestigiousfilmmakerBasilioMartInPatino. RicardoIscarcontinuedworkinginhisownprojectsandassoundoperatorandcinematographer,bothinGermanyandSpain,apartfromstartingteachingathePompeuFabraUniversityofBarcelonaandattheCECC(CenterforcinematograpicstudiesofCatalunia)in1998,wherehegotincontactwithJoséLuIsGuerIn,JoaquinJordáandallthefilmmakersthathavebecomepartoftherenewalfortheSpanishwayofunderstandingdocumentaries.WorkingwiththeminfilmssuchasEnConstrucciónbyJoséLuIsGuerIn,andMonescomlaBeckybyJoaquinJordá,didn'tstoppedhimfromcontinuingwithhisownprojects,asLaPuntadelMoralandELCerco(2001and2005,respectively),abouttheAndalusianfishermen.MostofhisfilmshavebeenalsoprogrammedbydifferentEuropeanTVbroadcastersduringthelastdecade. HisfilmTierraNegra(BlackEarth,2004)aboutthelastcoalminesstillopenattheNorthWestregionofLeónwashighlyprisedbytheSpanishCriticandwasreleasedin2005.…
